I accidentally stumbled upon this visual novel in the summer of 2024. It is clear that this is just a project for a gamejam which had strict restrictions, nevertheless, the concept and narrative are very good, I am pleased with the presence of two endings, albeit a good one is canonical, which is hinted at by the rules of jam. Let there be only 125 lines of text here, but at the end it's really a pity that we didn't get a sequel. Although, honestly, I never liked open endings..

And... Everything was so spinning and spinning that I wanted to translate this novel into my two native languages: Russian and Ukrainian. These two languages do not do well with queer-thematic transmission, so I did not find anything better than deliberately departing from mentioning the gender trait of the characters. Since neither Russian, but Ukrainian would not fit very well into the use of the neuter gender, to an unknown (known) character, this is simply indescribable. Here's what I can say about how I conveyed this sensitive topic, and I apologize if I did something wrong.

As a result, the translation turned into a correction of small bugs and issues of the original. And also port for Android devices (and TV is also are adapted, lol). For a month I translated and tested everything alone, although several of my friends helped me in proofreading. But anyway-

high-tea, I don't know will you see this comment now, But I would like to somehow contact you in order to discuss my work on the translation and, as a result, a new patchnote for your VN. Can I post it in my itch.io profile or can I send to you somehow the compilated distributives for update on this page alongside with the changelog? I know, that I just waste my time and there is no reason to do this, but... Here we are 😅

Thanks for your talent and VN's, I wish you the best, even if you have left itch.io and we will never saw your new VN again.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out! I'm glad to hear that my VN resonated with you so much!

You're welcome to upload fan translations of my work on your on itch.io page (or anywhere else) as long as you credit me as the original author and do not seek to profit from it

(1 edit)

Thanks for the approving. I've uploaded all dists including web version and created the game pages with original style of yours. Is it ok? I just want to make sure everything is fine, so I’m double-checking with you as the original creator. I've tried to include links to your original page wherever possible, except for the devblog with the list of changes. Apologies if this caused any inconvenience, and thank you again for your attention!

My fan update main page is here.

Web version of it is here.

Damn, I just noticed that there are changes in your web version that were not in the standard edition of the novel.

(which is logical, because the web version was released later than the stationary one)

For example:

- The OpenDyslexic font has a closer spacing between letters.

This font brought me a lot of headaches, since the version of the font for the PC release did not have Cyrillic letters, which is why I had to search for the font author's GitHub and download the latest beta version for 2019 which has the Cyrillic alphabet, but it has the letter spacing much larger than yours, and as a result it was still a task to set up the same display of the game on all devices (PCs, Tablets, Phones). So, now I'm thinking that I'm stupid and I need to transfer Cyrillic alphabet from new to the old one font revision

— sorry for my long texts, but I can't explain all in a few words 😭

- In the main menu of the game, a heart shape assembled from fragments of a stained glass lamp has a glow effect, as in the GIF animation on the game card from your profile

- Letter-by-letter text animation (I noticed it and was able to turn it on).

I'm sorry to bother you, but could you share your web version so that I can transfer these changes to my fan update? I would not bother you if it were possible to pull out the necessary resources on my own, but this is not considered possible.

Even if you have already lost the original project, you can download the existing build of the web version from itch.io on the "Edit game" tab, then "Downloads" then press "More" and then you can download your web version.

I will be very grateful if you succeed. You can send the file in any way convenient for you, or by e-mail to me :

Hi, and thanks for checking in!

The page is looking good, but I think I somewhat misunderstood what you were planning for. I understood that you would be releasing the build in Russian and Ukrainian, but the page is in English.

I'm very happy to see people translating the game, as that is something I cannot do myself, and it makes the game accessible to people who might not be able to read the English version. However, I would like to retain full creative control over the English version of the game, bugs and all, and I would also prefer if the English readership wasn't split between multiple accounts.

As such, I'd like to ask you to update the page to cater to Russian and Ukrainian speakers (i.e. primarily using those languages both on the page and in the screenshots). You're welcome to add an English disclaimer directing English speakers to this page, if you like.

Sorry for not being clear on this earlier.

Oh, and I decided to add a PC/mac build of the web release on this page, as it contains typo fixes and some quality of life updates. I hope the data contained there answers all your questions regarding formatting and such in the web build.

Damnnn, I absolutely adore how the entire thing was set up, especially with the letter and its cheesy romantic aspects! I also love the stained glass lamp thing, and I couldn't get the other ending which was to burn the letter because PLS, PLS I'D BE CRYING OVER THAT! Wonderful little visual novel with its jam limitation~!

Ohh, thank you so much!

I actually feel like this story works the best if you only play through one ending, but the knowledge that things could have gone differently for the two characters makes that chosen ending more meaningful.

the novel is well written, but it's a pity that it's short, have you ever thought about the sequel?

Hi! Thank you! I feel like I said what I wanted with this story, so I don't currently have any plans for a sequel.

it's a pity that there are no plans to continue, I just would like to see the further development of the relationship between the characters in this story. after re-reading, as it seemed to me with the right intonation and mood, the letter broke me to tears, the music in the background and the rain outside the window added even more atmosphere to the letter and the emotions that the writer of the expounds, to be honest, there are few such short but at the same time atmospheric stories that are so strong  make you feel the emotions of the characters

I. НУЖНО. А. ПРОДОЛЖЕНИЕ. С. О. ХОРОШО. ОКОНЧАНИЕ. ПОЖАЛУЙСТА!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Spoilers:

I found it really cool how you used the title screen / itch cover as one of the endings. Very good use of the jam limitations. You either get a cute fulfilling follow-up to the letter, or the gut-wrenching 'oh no!' moment that brings that image into context, which is strangely beautiful in a bittersweet way.

I love how you could totally feel the one-assetness throughout this work too (pretty unique for picking a non-person as sprite). It's well-executed minimalism.

Thank you so much! Most people have only commented on the writing, so it's really nice to see people noticing the thought I put into working with the jam limitations as well! ^^

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game :)

Thank you! <3

Aw, this made me tear up. Lovely choice of music and the feeling of the letter is so good. I liked having the choice at the end. What a sad, poignant little piece. Thank you for making this!

Ahh! Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for playing!

This was really sweet. In its own way.

Thank you!

Will there be an android version ?_🥺

Hi! I'm releasing a browser version next month, which will be playable on Android devices.

I wish it was longer T_T

This was a beautiful story! The visuals were wonderful! The OpenDyslexic font somehow adds a really nice touch to it too.

Thank you so much! I was pleasantly surprised by OpenDyslexic being so stylish and I might make it the official font for all of my games in the future.

I just watched this on baiyu's stream and it was so cute!! The visuals and the music are so atmospheric and I loved that the main menu art is sort of a mystery until you get to the end of the game and then you're like AHHH! Ties it all together really nicely <3

Thank you so much! The limitations of this jam made me consider how to make each asset as impactful as possible and this resulted in a VN I would never have made otherwise. It was such a fun experience!
